"Baby Kai" is the fifth sculpture in my series of "Silver Spoon Babies"
He is curled up, sound asleep in the bowl of a beautiful antique Solid Sterling Silver Baby Spoon! So tiny and sweet, this newly born baby is a fresh contrast to the aged, yet elegant antique baby spoon.
Two tiny treasures!
Baby Kai is completely sculpted out of polymer clay. He has a beautiful, soft skintone which is the result of drybrushing, highlighting, and shading with various shades of heat-set oils, and his rosy lips are also painted with heat-set oils and lightly glossed.
He has dark brown English Viscose hair, the sweetest little face, a chubby baby belly, and all the details of a real baby boyl
I love the character and natural tarnishing of the Sterling Silver Spoon, however Baby Kai is removable from the spoon so that you can polish the silver to a bright shine if you prefer.
Kai a is a bit bigger than my 1:12 Scale Dollhouse Miniature Babies although he is still tiny - he measures 2 inches in his curled up position.

This gorgeous Antique Baby Spoon was made by Webster Company of North Attleboro , MA
(1869-1949),
now Reed & Barton.
It is solid Sterling Silver and bears the "Sterling" and Webster "W" mark.
This is one of my very favorite Sterling Baby Spoons, as well as one of the most difficult to find. I waited months for one to come up for sale and it was worth it! It depicts a little boy in his pajamas climbing a ladder to the moon - all raised relief - with
"The Man In The Moon" in raised lettering.
