In 1995, shortly after the Oklahoma City Bombing tragedy,
Cheri attended a songwriter's seminar given by Dave Clark.
Near the end of the seminar, Mr Clark gave each person in the
class an assignment:
"Write a song, putting yourself in the
place of a firefighter who is searching for victims in the
Oklahoma City Bombing.
Imagine that you are holding someone in your arms who
you know is not going to survive, and the song is to be
your last words to that person."
Cheri wrote "I Promise".
Over the past 10 years, this tender song has ministered to many people who have lost loved ones. They will never be forgotten! It's message pays tribute to their memory, and also provides encouragement for believers in knowing that they will one day be reunited with their loved ones
in Heaven!

A sincere thank you to everyone in the past who has emailed me to share their story of a loved one who they have lost, and how God has touched their hearts through “I Promise”. I have saved every single email received in the past in the hopes of keeping in contact, however through the course of two computers crashing, nearly all of my emails have been lost.
If you have contacted me in the past and do not see your loved one’s name on this page, please feel free to email me again! I would love to have a part in honoring their memory with you on this site.
If your loved one’s name appears on this page and you would like to add or change anything, please also feel free to contact me.
